Where the TDS rates and thresholds come from
The withholding rates and statutory exemption limits are pinned to the Indian Income Tax Act, 1961, verified against the latest Union Budget Finance Acts and Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) notifications via the Income Tax Department — Direct Taxes (CBDT).
When the Ministry of Finance rationalizes a withholding rate (such as the recent reductions under Section 194H and 194-IB from 5% to 2%), we update the engine constants so all tools, worked examples, and rate charts stay in sync.
Client-side privacy standard
Every calculation, including the invoice figures you enter and the PAN status you select, runs entirely within your local browser. Nothing you type is sent across a network, logged in a database, or shared with third parties.
